TLDR : Answer Summary
Travelers transiting through Doha from London Heathrow (LHR) to Phuket do not require a COVID-19 test if they do not leave the airport. However, it is advisable to check with the airlines regarding any hotel booking requirements for transit, although a layover of 2-3 hours typically does not necessitate a hotel.

You need to book q hotel for transit to wait your next flight.

Should be better to check with tge airlines.

My brother was stucking in Doha airport last week when he flew back to UK viz he didn't book the roon to stay.

So the plan left him and he had to buy new ticket to KL to London.

Thank you for your reply but I’m only going to be in Doha 3 hours before the next flight so hotel room is not necessary.

No, transit doesn't matter for anything if you don't leave the airport.

Thanks to all replies it was just a grey area which needed clarification. Flights are cheap compared to Thai Airlines and BA. direct route.

I never heard of a country other than China that required tests be conducted at transit airports. They tried at ICN, but it was impractical and scrapped.

It's not needed in Dubai so I don't know why it would be needed in Doha.
