opening an account on a tourist or visa waiver at Bangkok bank only is not the majority of banks. So technically I guess we are both correct. Either way enjoy your banking 😉 have a nice day

Commission of course! Lots of people won't want to pay all that just to open a bank account.

this is the exception rather than the rule. Most banks require long term visas for you to open an account.

requirements are copy of passport, visa page, tm30 and the certificate takes one week to issue. You don't need photos. I've just done it in Samui. And it was free of charge.
