Everyone saying they will tighten it up it's too easy are not considering maybe they want to make it easy?

More people living in and spending money in Thailand helps Thailand.

Maybe I'm being very optimistic but I think there is a plan to get as many people as possible.

Re taxes , it may happen, they do struggle to tax Thai's so the taxing of foreigners will be a long long road as most do not even have a tax ID.

Enjoy it for what it is until it could change. Then make plans if you need to

really? So you are now the official spokesperson for the DTV?

You know as much as the rest of us and you are merely speculating

exactly and I don't know what rights the non O gives you apart from the right to stay for a year.

I'm on retirement extension but seriously looking at the DTV as it just offers so much more flexibility

5 year multiple entry tourist visa with which you can stay literally every day for 5 years with only 1 border run a year

The multiple entry part is worth it on its own. It's 4k per year for us non O visa holders

I don't see why not, with over 750,000 empty condos in Bangkok there is many more people required here.

They want people here and this visa is getting the feet on the ground and people spending money in Thailand
