Thai Bankrules have been tightened, because too many people has misused the Thai Banks, laundering money, and trying to hide money away from their homecountry.

But it is not only Thailand, where money needs to traceable etc. it is going in tha direction in many countries.

Been coming in Thailand for close to 30 years, different lengths of stay ( 2 weeks - several months) and never needed a Thai bankaccount, since I have my income outside of Thailand, and that’s where it is needed to have a bank, customers can pay to.

Much easier just to wait until visa is approved, and then get the best possible ticket, which in my world is a cheap ticket.

Leaving country of application, may lead to rejection, and loosing the 10.000 Baht visafee, so you can’t go to Thailand until approved.

Changeable tickets are more expensive, so much better to wait until visa is approved.

Forgot to take Thai holidays into account.

Why buy ticket before the visa is approved, you never know how long it will take.

Search the group for the specific Embassy you will apply at, but best to do it in your homecountry, better chances to get documentation approved, since they know how documents from homecountry look.

Don’t buy ticket to Thailand, until you got the visa. No way to know how long visa processing takes.

No need for return.

You are doing things the wrong way around.

First look at the Thai Embassy website, to see which visa are available, where you can live up to the requirements.

Second, then you know how long time you can stay in Thailand, and can decide based on that.

Its not always possible to get what you want.
