Will my DTV visa application be approved even if I miss the proposed arrival date?

Aug 12, 2025
Hello,

I have applied for DTV visa. I filled the arrival date on the form as 13 August.

My application date: 28 July

Pending approval: 5 August

and today 12 august still on pending approval. I already changed my flight since it was free to change but I have a question. Now since tomorrow will be the day i filled in the form, if this date passes will they still process my visa and give or will they just reject since its already pass the date?

PS: i applied from Ankara.

Thanks for any replies,

best.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about their DTV visa application pending approval as their proposed arrival date (13 August) is approaching. They changed their flight due to free changes and are unsure if missing the proposed arrival date will affect their visa approval. Comments indicate that the arrival date is not binding and that the Thai Embassy in Ankara generally has a processing time of 5 to 10 business days, which may not yet be complete.

the Thai Embassy in Ankara has 5 to 10 Business Days processing timeframe, so as of 12 August 2025, not yet the full 10 Business Days, as there have been a few Public Holidays that the Thai Embassy in Ankara has been closed

"...

IT TAKE 5-10 BUSINESS DAYS (AFTER SUBMITTING THE COMPLETE APPLICATION OR RE-SUBMITTING THE REVERTED APPLICATIONS) FOR THE APPROVAL OF THE VISA.

Your arrival date on the form is just intended or proposed it's not binding and won't affect your application

Forgot to take Thai holidays into account.

Why buy ticket before the visa is approved, you never know how long it will take.

I bought my ticket as free change so changing ticket doesn’t affect me yet i can still go inside the country via visa exemption. The question is if the time i filled exceed their processing time will the process or not?

Leaving country of application, may lead to rejection, and loosing the 10.000 Baht visafee, so you can’t go to Thailand until approved.

Changeable tickets are more expensive, so much better to wait until visa is approved.

Changeable tickets are often also possible to cancel without paying fees. That means you can cancel and buy cheaper tickets if you want.

Much easier just to wait until visa is approved, and then get the best possible ticket, which in my world is a cheap ticket.

Anonymous participant while you can travel with visa exempt, you are supposed to stay in the jurisdiction where you applied, so shouldn’t travel.
