Sometimes, it can be tricky to open up a bank account with only a tourist visa/visa exempt. Things that can help with this issue:

* Pretend you want to buy a house and get a purchase contract for one (preferably no deposit or a very small amount, e.g. 5.000 Baht).

* Have to get a certificate of residence from immigration (purpose: open up a bank account). In order to get that, you need a lease agreement.

In Hua Hin, you need 1 out of those 2, either one works.

Try different banks, bring someone who speaks Thai and/or bring a person who is a customer at the branch you are trying.

Keep it easy everybody!

It’s hectic out there, we are here to help each other as far as possible. Cooperation outmatches going against one another...

Thanks, Tod.

The thing is he wants me to sell his car (and need a visa for that) without actually traveling to Thailand. So I thought of this idea. Even he wouldn’t have stamped in on arrival, for the department of transportation, just the sticker would be enough...

@Benjamin *****
Ok. Why is that? Is it UAE specific?

Because in other countries it is easily possible to obtain that visa for ZAF nationals as far as I know...

Yes, that’s what I understood. Apart from that, the 90 days report has to be done. And I count the days myself to bounce out....

@Ellie ******
Well, thanks for the advice. Should be self-evident though...
