What Are the Current Requirements for Crossing the Border into Laos from Thailand?

what is the situation for border crossing into Laos? I'd plan to stay a week or two, then head back to Thailand. Can we still, with what extra documents due to the pandemic, and where can we do it. Are Savannakhet and Champasak OK crossings? thank you. I have a french passport, and been in the region since dec 5, all legit on tourist visas, only one border crossing so far

it now appears that the Lao Visa On Arrival program has been suspended. Meaning to enter Lao you either go to the Lao consulate here in Thailand and BUY a visa or you use the Evisa online portal to buy an visa that will let you in via Vientiane, Savannakhet or the Vientiane Airport.

I am a Philippine passport holder, and we normally can enter Laos on a visa exempt. Any idea if this is not suspended yet?

 Can you give me more information about this? I'm scheduled to fly to Laos on Sunday and don't have a visa.

1. I wonder if there is an expedited evisa service available?

2. Are they also stopping all visa exempt nationals from arriving?

Crossed into Laos at Mukdahan yesterday, Dutch passport, Non Immigrant O visa, living in Thailand for years. Just to cross no problem, to go into Laos, depending on passport need medical check and certificate to leave Thailand, available at the border to get. Medical checks to get into Laos. As I did a quick in out, I could pass all the medical checks. On entry Thailand the Cam filming and taking temperature of everybody. Staff tell Please use the hand saniteser before the fingerprint scan, before using their pencil to fill in the forms, full multiple bottles on every table as well as Thai and Laos side.

Are visa runs off subject here? Though I see someone just posted about border crossing from Ranong, and you thanked him for the update. also, a post about the need to e-visa your way into Myanmar, if in Mae Sai.

My ? is pandemic related, like evryone else here, basically.
