of course not-- no problem asking politely, and then what, if refused?? make a scene? take on Thailand's corruption problem-- may feel good to vent and do that, but absolutely in the wrong long term interests of the individual. ive lived only a few years in cm but more than 20 all kver Thailand-- anyone advising a farang to take on Thailand's corruption problem is doing them a great diservice.

you're kidding right? this guy is going to take on the corrupt system and then screw up his chsnce at getting future service from that office??

you go ahead and take on the corrupt system that none of us new existed when we chose to live here. we have all been caught by total surprise and now must be the ones to fight and change a system, the Thais themselves will not touch. good luck with that.

i understand and have heard some of the same things, but acceptance lf the 65,000 is in the regulation, but, as this is Thailand, any change wouldnt surprise me. so strange, the proof of income is so that one can demonstrate he/she has the funds to support themselves, but then, you are very restricted on how to use it-- for those on limited incomes, having those funds tied up is very dsmaging.

yes. u are absolutely correct-- this has been discussed in detail here before and on various FB pages and websites, and i posted something very similar to what you have here. but, still, some are unaware-- i now use a combo of SWIFT transfers and transferwise, but always the odd chance, and posters have indicated it happened to them, that tne transferwise transfer did not show as an international transfer. there was a guy who detailed nicely how one can go about making sure that doesnt happen by contacting transferwise during the transfer process and they will work with u to ensure it does show as an international transfer.
