I know they check from personal experience. "They're certainly not going to check anything. . ." - your personal experience? or just off the cuff nonsense. . .

Important point - actually getting on the plane. I know that if I tried that in Australia with Jetstar I'd have a problem.

Just came in now. Clearly stated on the immigration desks it says "please prepare 1. Passport, 2. Boarding pass" .

That's it, no other documents required.

This definitely won't work with your airline in yr home country. They won't let you board the plane to Thailand without evidence of a booked ticket to leave Thailand!

Jetstar. MEL to BKK. Every time whenever I've booked a long stay and the check-in person needs me to show them the visa. Other times they don't ask because it's obvious from your booking - they can see that. So maybe ppl don't think it's being checked, but it certainly is. No airline wants to break that regulation 'cos they'll have the trouble of dealing with the consequences ie providing you with an outbound flight.

Since the Thai govt introduced the regulation.

It is required for all visitors, however when the system knows you, it is not required. Late last year for example I did not have to fingerprint.

One thing to remember with fingerprinting - the fingers prior to yours on that reader have been up noses, scratching arseholes, balls, pubes, and festering sores. Be very sure to use the hand cleaner provided!! ☠️☠️💩💩

All the best, but don't think that the agent doing it is necessary corrupt. My last experience without an agent was corrupt - I eventually had to slip an envelope under the table to get the job done. Next time it will be an agent and above board.

Whilst I agree with you overall, the price for a visa agent ain't tea money. It's a feast at the Oriental! 😅😅
Brian *******
At immigration you showed yr passport and boarding pass, right?

Bring the 'on' switch for your brain and a big bag of common sense and you'll be fine.
