Dawson I was a taxi driver for 28 years in Ireland...retired 24 years now...when I was last working it was 40 cent for every piece of luggage that was carried in the trunk/boot. I have been in many other countries in Europe and I was aware of this charge...In my time the "fare" (passenger) would not have even noticed or have been aware that they were been charged this fee if I had not pointed it out to them.
Whenever I go on holidays to a different country, I always bring a certain amount of the local currency for immediate use upon arrival.. ie ..for Coffee, Something to eat, Bus or Taxi....seems like only common sense to me?
True Tony...yet in Europe they are bringing in the Green Certificate/Passport which allows free travel (No Quarentine) throughout Europe for fully vaccinated people... Then no test required (methinks).
Amazing! I was just thinking the exact same thing myself. Why is it that so many "Farangs" are so angry on these type of forums. I was a member of a different popular forum in Thailand and was constantly astonished at the anger displayed daily in replies to many of the posts. The lack of compassion, manners and understanding (to people they don't even know) stood out miles. I can only assume that is their "nature" and in all sincerity, I truly feel sorry for them, whatever happened to have instilled this frame of mind in them, probably slowly over many many years, that to them it is perfectly normal behaviour.
We have a saying back home..."It's nice to be nice".
