Hi All...I have been going through the process of renewing my Retirement Ext...it had expired after I got stuck back home in Ireland during the pandemic. I have gone through the "Application of stay under consideration" stage and my latest stamp says "Non O Retirement" and to report back in August (about 11 weeks later).

My 2 questions please... I think the Imm.O. said I will have to re-submit in August... All the paperwork again that I submitted the last time to get to this stage ...am I correct in that ?...and secondly...do I have to wait till August or can I do it earlier. If I can do the application earlier, will it be dated from the August date or the date I make the application...if approved.

Thanking you in advance for any advice.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is in the process of renewing their Non-O Retirement visa which expired while they were stuck in Ireland due to the pandemic. They are at the "Application of stay under consideration" stage, with their passport stamped to report back in August. They seek clarification on whether they need to resubmit all paperwork for the visa renewal when they return in August, and if they can submit the application earlier. Responses clarify that documentation may need to be resubmitted, with the application for extension able to be made once under 30 days remain on the current stamp. The extension, if approved, would be applied from the original admit date rather than the application date.

Thank you Lyndon...Yes , you have it correctly. Thank you for the information especially about when I can apply for the 1year extention...when less than 30 days remaining. I had the

money seasoned for 2 ½ years already sitting in my Thai bank. I will get another letter from the bank to be on the safe side when I apply.

G.B. ..and thanks

again.

Assuming I understand you correctly.

Essentially you have submitted and had approved you change of visa to non-o retirement, 90 days.

Depending on the office you use.

You will need to submit all the same documents again with the exception of proving the funds came from abroad (which you may not may not have been asked for before)

You can submit your application for the 12 month extension once you have less than 30 days remaining on your stamp, and your money has seasoned for two months. 1900THB

The extension will be added to the 'admitted until date' in your passport, i.e. not taken from the date you apply.
