For about $20 it is worth buying a throw away ticket from onwardticket.com that leaves within 60 days ( you need to book it within 48 hours of leaving for Thailand)

Hi Dave.... I have been in Thailand 3 years now, and just go in person. I have just moved from Phuket to Samui.... Would I not need to register my new residence before I do this? And thus need to go register at Samui Immigration in person any way?

You are right... Nobody knows the intricacies of what went down, but from an independent, macro perspective I would suggest you have learnt a lesson with very expensive consequences. I think you should walk away and save your energy, as you won't see a single Baht back from this misadventure.

Same same, but different.... Booked a room through them in Phan Nga which was supposed to have aircon. Turns out room didn't have aircon so I had to pay cash to upgrade. Instead of just checking and refunding the difference..... They insisted that I should have got a cash receipt (but I did not due to language issues). Ethically very wrong!
