If I fly through Bangkok and then through to Koh Samui all on one ticket can I leave my bags until I get to Koh Samui and then go through immigration there

Or would I have to get my bags and go through immigration in Bangkok and then take a regional carrier through to Koh Samui

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you are flying to Koh Samui from Bangkok on a single ticket, you will typically go through immigration at Bangkok. Your checked bags may be transferred directly to Koh Samui, depending on your airline's policies. It is advisable to check your ticket details and confirm with your airline about baggage handling before your trip, as there could be variations in procedure based on the airlines involved.

you're coming to Thailand so you'll get 10 different answers and nobody knows for sure as situations may differ🤣🤣🤣 ask when checking in at departure that's the best place to probably get the right answer , supposing you ask the right question , and don't confound immigration and customs . immigrstion don't give a s*** about your bags .

I’ve always flown to the final airport, where I go through immigration. Never once doing the immigration at Bkk. That’s with Thai.

Ths flight from BKK to Samui that the OP is on is a domestic flight with Bangkok Airways arriving at the domestic terminal in Samui where all passengers get off and walk through baggage claim to freedom without a passport control or immigration official in sight in this domestic arrivals area. Let’s not add confusion for the OP by talking about other airlines and other scenarios.

Depends on your booking. It will tell you if you need to self transfer or not.

Ubon isn't one of the cities where you can transit through Bangkok and then go through immigration at the final destination, but Samui is (if the ticket and luggage checking are done correctly).

Your bags go to Samui.

You clear customs in Bangkok.

Pick bags up in Samui and clear inspection of bags there.

Just did this.

Too many guesses here. If you bought a through ticket on a single reservation then you will do Thai immigration at BKK and proceed to the domestic part of the terminal for your onward flight to USM. Your checked bags will go straight through to USM so you don’t need to collect and recheck at BKK however you will collect them from a different carousel to the domestic checked bags at USM. This is announced when you arrive at USM on your connecting domestic flight so I know it’s how they do it.

You always do immigration at the first airport, either fly through where you stay behind the scenes and baggage is transferred automatically or mainstream, collecting bags and then checking in again.

Poster is asking re bags and collection

Is this some third party ticket seller providing the one ticket?

. May have to collect bags and re checkin

Ask airlines or ticket company to be sure.

Your ticket should show which airlines are operating your flights.

based on reading that entire page, this looks like outbound from Thailand, not inbound.

It's talking about flights originating on Bangkok Airways.
