Hi Dave.... I have been in Thailand 3 years now, and just go in person. I have just moved from Phuket to Samui.... Would I not need to register my new residence before I do this? And thus need to go register at Samui Immigration in person any way?
The online reports go to the office that you report to. It is then up to that office as how long they take. My local office is small and takes 3 to 5 days. I asked them last time I was in the office.

Same with mine. Sent last Sunday and received on Monday. Great service

I know! But according to Chaengwattana Immigration female officer I had to do it 15 days before! She said the 15 days before and 7 days after is only when you attend in person. Online has to be done 15 days before. Total bullshit and shit service. I had to travel 2 hours there and back for a 5 minute report!
Were you told to do it earlier? In December I did my first 90 day report at Chaengwattana Immigration, I was handed a piece of paper that said do the next 90 day report on 7th March. I did exactly that and they rejected it saying it was submitted late!
