No, a visa exempt entry is NOT a visa. It's a permission to stay without a visa.

It's almost double price of a visa though.

What Lloyd said. Unlimited entries with tourist visa but after 3-5 tourist visas a consulate might give you a red stamp which means they won't issue another one for you so you would have to switch consulates.

Does anybody know btw if that red stamp gets "reset" after a certain amount of time or with a new passport? Just wondering.

On a tourist visa you can cross land borders as many times as you like. 2x per calendar year by land only affects visa exemption.

Don't think so. I would have paid most of the time if anyone had offered me that service. One day I camped on the floor. Took 1,5 hours for one single A320... 🙄

Yes, I know. I asked him twice as I know that tourist/non-immigrant has always been 20.000. He posted recently that bribes are not accepted anymore in Sadao but then people commented with different experiences.

I'm going back to Thailand tomorrow (Surat Thani airport) and still not sure whether I should bring 10 or 20k. Probably better safe than sorry I guess.

I'm currently in Penang and

advises all of his clients to carry 10.000THB. Regardless of which type of visa.

Yes, I have a notarized copy of my birth certificate. I checked the embassy website already and it says 4-6 weeks regular processing time. Just wanted to hear some experiences as I hope they are faster than that. I am still registered in Berlin though. Money is not really an issue - only time.

Wow. I might still risk it though as I don't even have a full page left after I get my visa sticker tomorrow.
