Does anybody here have experience with the German embassy in Bangkok regarding the application for a new full passport? How fast can you get an appointment? How long did it take until the passport was there? I'm currently in Malaysia and will call them as soon as I get back to Thailand but maybe someone here can share their experiences. Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks experiences regarding the application process for a new full passport at the German embassy in Bangkok, specifically asking about appointment availability and the time taken to receive the passport. Comments suggest that appointments need to be made online and mention an express service that allegedly takes about 2 weeks, though there are concerns that it could be longer during holiday seasons. One comment warns against relying on the express service, citing an 8-week wait for a passport.
Yes, I have a notarized copy of my birth certificate. I checked the embassy website already and it says 4-6 weeks regular processing time. Just wanted to hear some experiences as I hope they are faster than that. I am still registered in Berlin though. Money is not really an issue - only time.
Online Appointment are acceptable usually for the day after tomorrow. Go to the web site of the German embassy, it is straight forward. Nowadays they also ask for your birth certificate. It takes usually 2-3 weeks as the diplomatic post is only send once a week from Berlin to Bangkok. It also depends if you still registered in Germany or not. If you still registered there the Embassy has to contact your Hometown to get approval for issue a new passport. I like the German word for it, "Nichtzustaendigkeit" and of course you have to pay extra. The yearly temporary passport can be issued with 3-4days, just in case
