Reentry with DTV Visa.

Entered HKT airport in July 2025 for the first time on the DTV visa, immigration officer asked if I was coming in on DTV for the first time to which I politely answered yes.

I stayed for 178 days and exited via HKT for just one day to Singapore and flew to Suvarnabhumi. Planning to fly back to Phuket in a few days.

Re-entered with 40,000THB equivalent cash in my wallet in case I was turned away. Officer processed my passport with efficient precision without a flinch nor a smile and let me through with no questions asked.

I was in the priority queue and had a business class boarding pass. Not sure if this had any impact, but another data point.

Has there been any reports of DTV holders being asked for 10k cash at immigration?

Has anyone used Fidelity statements (cash requirement held in SPAXX) for their DTV visa application?

Vs. ie) a Bank of America. I find the yield is higher and prefer to keep my cash requirements in a money market account. Thanks

Hello friends, I have 60k$ in my Schwab Brokerage account but it's all investments and not cash, I could liquidate but obviously don't want to. Has anyone been able to get their DTV approved with investments rather than cash?

⚠️ Warning

Passport Type: USA

I’m having to leave Thailand because my Non-B visa couldn’t be transferred in time due to a missing document from my employer. While still in Thailand, immigration told me I had to leave the country to do a border run and return on a tourist visa to restart the Non-B visa process.

This will be my first time entering Thailand on a tourist visa exempt on arrival, as I haven’t used one this year. Today, I’m flying from Thailand to Vientiane, Laos (VTE airport) via Lao Airlines. I had everything prepared for the visa on arrival: 2,000 baht in cash and a passport photo, ready before check-in at the airline counter.

However, Lao Airlines refused to issue my already paid-for ticket unless I showed them an additional 10,000 baht in cash. I’ve never heard of this requirement before.

I’m scheduled to return to Thailand on the same airline from VTE. Has anyone experienced this before? Has anyone had problems flying back to Thailand from VTE with Lao Airlines?

Hi there,

This is a question for people who have applied for DTV in the US. Have any of you shown the cash needed ($15k USD) in a brokerage account? Not as stocks and investments. But the cash amount.

I have a high yielding brokerage account, so want to put the money there, just not sure if that will be alright.

If anyone has experience showing cash in their brokerage account, please let me know.

Thanks!
