I dropped my request for an Evisa, and didn’t hear anything for about 14 days. Make sure you check the website every day, they won’t send out an email. Anyway I checked mine, and they did ask for more information and documentation twice before I got my 90 days Evisa took almost a month

That sounds normal. An airline can be fined for allowing passengers to board without the proper visa or onward ticket.

How can I avoid issues with Thai immigration regarding my visa stamp at entry?

Just a suggestion, I have an E-Visa, what have done the past few years is to print it out, fold it up and paper clip it to the second page of my passport.

Doing so makes it quick work to show an airline, and to hand it to immigration. I leave it in my passport until I return to my homeland just in case any questions arise
