Hello I need some help with the place of issue.

I have a dutch passport which is issued in 's-gravenhage. But under the passport section 12 (authority, it says: "Burg. van 's-Gravenhage".

Do I feel in Burg. van 's-Gravenhage or only 's-Gravenhage?

Any dutch people here? I'm applying in jakarta.

Thanks

Question for German passport holders: what to enter for “place of issue”?

I’m filling out the form that asks for the *“place of issue”* of my passport.

In a German passport, there doesn’t seem to be a clear place listed.

What is the correct thing to enter here?

* the issuing authority (e.g. Bürgeramt XY)?

* simply Germany?

* or an actual city like Berlin / Munich?

What did you put, or what is usually expected?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Folks, applying for Non-O from UK as British Citizen. I have passport issued in 2024 which does not show place of issue.

Passport has field for 'Authority' showing HMPO. Should I enter this for the place of issue?

Many thanks in advance.

For the LA consulate, has anyone who's gotten approved for the DTV, what did you use for the "place of issue" and "city of birth". I've searched around and got mixed answers. Some say for the place of issue use USA, United States, or United States Department of State. For city of birth some say use the state as in the passport and others say both city and state. Should you use city [space] state, ex Seattle Washington or just stick with the state (as seen on the passport) even though it asks for the city? Any advice would be appreciated.

Update: Thanks everyone. For other people's reference this worked for me.

City of Birth: I put down the state as my passport only shows the state

Place of Issue: United States

"PLACE OF ISSUE"

I know this has been asked dozens of times and I read almost all the posts mentioning it, but the responses are very different.

My passport only has 2 fields that can be interpreted as "Place of Issue":

- "Issuing Country": "BRA"

- "Authority": "DPF/CAS/SP"

My country is "BRAZIL" / "BRASIL"

So what information should I put in "Place of Issue", I've already contacted the embassy and it was not very helpful.

Hello :-) Question mostly for Polish people with passport issued in Poland, but if any country have similar please also share.

What did you write in the place of issue box while applying? Did you go with what's under authority word by word (in my case it says Wojewoda Pomorski /3/) or you wrote Poland?

I will be applying in Hanoi and really don't want to get rejected for a mistake there.

TIA

EDIT: I called Embassy of Thailand in Hanoi and the Embassy told me to write Poland.

For Swedish passport holders who applied for and were granted a DTV visa through the online application, what did you enter in the ‘Place of Issue’ field? As it says in mine ‘Polismyndigheten’ no country or city name.

Hi all!

This group has been very helpful, so thank you for all the advice.

One (pretty dumb) question for Americans...on the DTV application under the "Place of Issue" field for passport, I simply wrote "USA".

I am seeing that maybe I should have put "UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF STATE".

Does anyone who got approved have any info on this?

Thank you!

Hi folks,

I will be submitting my application later this week, but I had a question regarding one of the fields on the pasport info page.

In the field "place of issue" would I write exactly what is seen on my pasport "dia syd" or should I write the full name "department of Internal Affairs Sydney"?

Thanks for your help

Hi everyone!

I’ve been in this group for a while but still haven’t found a clear answer to this question: *What should we write in the “passport place of issue” field?*

Some people say we must write exactly what’s written in the passport, while others say just write the country. I’m really confused.

In my case, the place of issue in my passport is a string of numbers and letters in Russian. Even if I try to copy them, the application doesn’t allow Cyrillic characters, so it won’t match what’s written in the document anyway.

If you’ve applied recently, could you please clarify what you wrote in this field? Thank you so much in advance!
