Is a Non Immigrant O-A 1 year visa a multi entry or single entry visa?

I am over 50 from the United States.

Ideally I would like to be able to make multiple 60 to 120 day visits to see my Thai wife while we wait for the American government to grant her a visa to travel to America.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Non-Immigrant O-A visa, specifically for retirement, is a one-year multiple entry visa. This allows the holder to enter and exit Thailand multiple times within the validity period. For those planning to spend time with a Thai spouse while waiting for a visa to the U.S., this option is ideal. Additionally, using the online eVisa system, applicants can select between single or multiple entry options, with the multiple entry visa costing around 200 USD. Other alternatives, such as a tourist visa combined with a family visit extension, can also be considered for longer stays.

I have also a 1 year O/A multi entry made in Italy but I always have a Retirement Visa. When expire, next May, I can apply again in Pattaya for a retirement? Thank you!

, you can apply for a yearly extension of stay based on retirement by meeting the proof of funds, and documentation requirements at the immigration office in Jomtien.. I'd say a couple months before that date next year GO to the immigration office and get the hand out listing the requirements for the year extension

I just checked and using the online eVisa system in the US (the website you have to use to buy visas for thailand) you can select either single OR multiple entry

I would say if you're hoop jumping to get that OA visa you get the multiple entry one for 200 USD.. That visa gives you unlimited entry/exit to thailand for the year it's valid for

The OA visa for retirement is a One year multiple entry Visa.

During that first year you will be STAMPED in for the full valid date of your OA visa as will be shown on it upon approval.

So Yes, you can use it as you shared with us in your question.

Or, consider getting a simple Thai tourist visa... Which will get you 60 days on arrival plus One 30 day extension of stay at Thai Immigration office for 1900 Thai baht...

THEN Apply for the 60 day family visit extension of stay at your local Thai Immigration office...

Thereby giving you up to 150 days Stay in Thailand.

That is much easier to get vs having to meet the OA visa requirements.

ummm, either I missed something or…???

When I got my OA an option for multiple entry can be purchased at the time of application, otherwise is single entry by default. 🤷‍♂️

The OA visa is a multi Entry visa during its FIRST YEAR from its issue date.
