It seems like most people are seeing faster turn around times after document request than me. Any advice or experience? I don't fly until Jan 20th, so maybe they are delaying until closer to the fly date? I'd rather just have it settled...
Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user submitted their visa application at the USA consulate in Los Angeles on December 7th and has been waiting for a response since providing additional documents on December 14th. While other applicants report faster turnaround times, users advise that processing times vary and may be longer due to additional document requests. The LA consulate indicates a processing time of 15 business days, meaning the user could expect an update by January 8th, factoring in holidays.
I dropped my request for an Evisa, and didn’t hear anything for about 14 days. Make sure you check the website every day, they won’t send out an email. Anyway I checked mine, and they did ask for more information and documentation twice before I got my 90 days Evisa took almost a month
Each embassy has a suddenly turnaround time, so I would disregard posts from people receiving their visa quicker, if it was not the LA consulate. The LA consulate states the turnaround time for all visas done through them is 15 business days (does not include weekends and holidays). Furthermore, for many consulates, the clock restarts when you submit additional documents (not sure if LA follows this, but many do). If so, factoring in holidays, you should expect it around Jan 8th. However, it is possible to come earlier
