.Pay by scan with your phone with qr codes (I use that a lot in shops and lazada). 2.no atm fees - or up to 10 baht. 3 cardless withdrawal atm. 4.Instant payment to other Thai bank accounts. .Not depending on 1 bank card. I am quite happy with my 2 accounts

well 5000 was what I paid some years ago when opening an account in BKK. Not to an agent but to the bank because they insisted I took an insurance

some banks like Bangkok bank will ask you to get an insurance for 1 year - cost 5000 baht. So if you do it yourself you may get one without paying or you may not. Paying an agent 4-5000 baht or pay for an insurance you don't want - what's the difference apart from the fact that it is super easy with an agent and could save you a lot of time trying to find a bank
