hi group. I came here June 4 on my non-o and got permission to stay until August 31. August 1 I applied for 1 year extension and I will get it October 1. My question is about the 90 days reporting. Shall I do that in beginning of September? if yes this will be my first reporting - I think I have seen it should be done in person the first time. Is that correct? thanks in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user asks about the timing for their first 90-day reporting after applying for a one-year extension on their Non-O visa. Comments clarify that the 90-day report is usually required 90 days into the extension, and emphasize that initial Non-O visa holders do not need to report until after the extension is granted, at which point the immigration office will provide details.

Are you sure on your dates, the extension should run from 1st September and they have already had 30 days to process it?

Well, besides a bit strange English ("until" instead of "on") it seems okay. Good luck !!!

Mmm, strange indeed. What Tony says normaly is right. If the imm. Office is not too far away from y'r house, to be sure I would go again first of september. Do you have a written paper with 1st of october on it ? Because when they DID make a mistake in the return date (Translation 🤷‍♂️) and you don't have any written proof of the date 1st of october, then you have a problem I guess.

You can’t do a 90 day report on an initial Non O visa as you can’t stay more than 90 days. When you apply for your first year extension then they will probably put a small piece of paper in your passport showing when your first 90 day report is due.

Normally you only do a 90 day report 90 days into your 12 month extension. When you go for the extension ask them
