Thank you for the clarification guys, I stand corrected
it just sounded too good to be true.
What's the deal with not being able to open a bank account on that visa though? What if you combine it with a 1 year condo rental contract for instance?
I’m pretty sure that 10,000 is for six months and not for the full five years it has to be extended (automatically )every six months with a fee payable every six months
It’s 500 K per person up to two adults and two dependent children. For a couple it’s 1 million for a couple with two kids is 2 million. It doesn’t depend on the embassy.
When I went to the Thai Embassy in PP for unrelated reasons last month I saw that there were only taking online applications and the whole process is online.
I'm interested to see how it works out for you and how long it takes.
yep, it doesn't look good. Plus they love their holidays and it's not really a good time.
How about a land border crossing at poipet? Probably not possible legally. But it could be cheaper to pay a fine flying out of Bangkok than rebuying an international plane ticket.
She has to go to the Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh and apply for a new tourist visa. Check the requirements but I think it takes 48 hours and she will need stamped evidence of financial resources like a bank statement. A printout of bank statement is not enough, they love their stamps.
I also tried opening a bank account with a tourist visa a few months ago. I tried several banks including Bangkok Bank at two or three different locations. I thought showing a hundred thousand bath in cash would help but it didn't. No Lt visa no bank account. It was getting ridiculous
