Yes. Pre-approval means they have approved the first part of the submission, now you have to upload your travel documents and wait for the full approval. People on here saying 'no' are talking nonsense, don't listen to them!

Start with a 2 month tourist visa and take it from there. Currently you can extend a tourist visa indefinitely while the pandemic keeps the borders closed.

thanks for the advice, but I don't think my local consulate do electronic applications (I'm in Bulgaria). I am currently stuck trying to call them to find out what I should do.

I'm not currently in the UK so I don't have this problem. However, others have suggested that if you book a viewing with an estate agent and bring proof of this, this counts as a viable reason.

What are the steps to take when applying for a visa to Thailand that requires flight and hotel details?

As I understand it, the most sensible order:

1. Flight

2. Insurance (requires flight date)

3. Initial COE application (requires insurance)

4. ASQ hotel (requires flight details)

5. Visa (unless on 45 day visa waiver)

6. Complete COE application (requires flight, ASQ and visa)
