Hello! I’ll be leaving vancouver Canada April 1st at 2am to BKK. I have my covid-19 test booked for 29th of March at 11am. I land in Taiwan at 5:30am on April 2nd and depart at 8:30am. I am just wondering does my test still have to be within 72 hours when I board my connecting flight in Taiwan?

Anyone have issues?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The traveler is inquiring if their COVID-19 test, scheduled for March 29, will still be valid when boarding their connecting flight in Taiwan on April 2, as the test must be taken within 72 hours before the first flight departure. Responses from the community suggest that the countdown starts at the time the test result is received, and it is generally acceptable. Additionally, there is discussion regarding the need for a Special Tourist Visa (STV) due to current regulations, highlighting that processes can vary and may take time.

: I am Canadian and will be also heading out to BKK, but a month later. Did you need to get an STV (Special Tourist Visa).

I think you can do the 30 day still, But you have to get a COE and prove your quarantine hotel which is 11 days

: Great that's what I thought, but its not so clear online and its not clear either to my Thai fiancée. I will check with the Embassy next week when they are open (they are only open a few days of the week in Ottawa).

I also posted a question on here. Let's see if anyone knows.

I am not sure.

Do you know if its necessary to get the Visa (STV) even for stays less than one month?
Nicole ********
ORIGINAL POSTER
Yeah it was lengthy. Lots of paperwork and you have to book your Airbnb, flight, insurance before you apply for the visa. Whole thing took about a month with the COE too.

yeah I got the stv

How much time did the whole process take? I just want to make sure that I give myself enough time. It looks like a very complex and lengthy process...

Nicole Nicole : So its required even for Canadians? I know in the past I didn't need it, but I guess the situation is different now because of Covid?
