Hong Kong is an option Jason. However I have been before and I found it to be rather expensive and a bit of a hassle to get around.

Andrew, you make a good point about the Visa in China. I hadn't thought of that so thanks for the suggestion. Also opening accounts 2ith more than one bank sounds like a good idea.

Good to know Steve. Thanks for the info. It's a pain I have to fly to BKK to submit and again to collect. I did look into a company who does the process for you, but it seems I would need to have someone here in Thailand who can say they have known me for 2 years. I don't have any such person.

Tod Daniels I hope this isn't a stupid question. You say that one can get a re entry permit on a tourist visa? Does than mean that instead of going to Vientiane to get another SETV, I could get one from BKK airport instead without having to leave the country? Or am I getting re entry permits mixed up with visas?
