it might also very from consulate to consulate, so it might help if you mention which Thai consulate you applied with.

Check the posted dates on the embassy website. I was trying to help a friend out from the UK today and the embassy info hasn't been updated in a while and is still showing only entry requirements from last year. While most countries are allowed to apply for Single entry Tourists Visa at the moment I don't think it's permitted from the UK.

if this is for COE. After initial application you should have received a reference code. Then wait for pre- approval email where they ask for supporting documents ie Flight ticket, Insurance, ASQ booking. Now I'm at this stage and waiting for final approval. Good luck.

different requirements depending on the consulate I guess. Ottawa did not require proof of Medical insurance for the visa. Only for COE process.

someone else just posted their extention experience. He's also an American. Search recent posts, it should help you with what you need to provide. Good luck.

Guess it's different depending on which country you are applying from. In Canada you need to have a flight booked to even apply for the visa. Once the visa is issued then I'll book everything else.

Americans can now apply for a single entry tourist visa. There are some new criteria to meet compared to the regular process however. Or you can also apply for the Elite visa.
