People have probs as they often do not have a visa to cover multiple entries. The days of using visa exemption to fly in and out of Thailand for months on end without question are over. Having a multi entry visa avoids the problems you are referring to.

I had the same income concern when I first started to look into the DTV. I contacted the London embassy who told me there was no minimum income requirement. You can also find posts from online tutors who were approved via London they detailed just starting with limited income
