TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the possibility of crossing from Phnom Penh to Ho Chi Minh by land to apply for a visa, despite concerns about application processes and costs. Comments from other users clarify that the crossing method does not significantly affect the application, but emphasize the necessity of having the right visa based on nationality and suggest applying in Hanoi for faster processing.
It doesn't , Ive never applied for one, that's why I'm asking if the border you cross is referenced when applying , and if you aren't where you crossed applying does it matter. I know it sounds dumb, but there's plenty of things on these forms that don't make much sense,. At 400$ us I want it to work the first time I apply.

I don't understand what you're certificate has to do with getting into Vietnam..
It's completely dependent on the passport you have and most passport countries require a visa before entry..
UK passport and a couple of others can get visa on arrival

Better to apply to Hanoi as long as in Vietnam ... Most people saying it's easier and only 4-7 days. Ho chi Minh not getting the same reviews

Just make sure you have the appropriate visa if your nationality needs one for Vietnam. And take into account the price of a Cambodian visa as well.

It does not matter if you go via a land border and apply.
