you might need to buy a re-entry permit at the airport before you fly out. If you don't then your work permit may become invalidated and you'll be starting from scratch.

yep, spot on. These long weekends have been good for quite a few places, in particular those within driving distance of Bangkok. As you said earlier, those outside Thailand don't seem to realise that for most of the country life continues as normal.

agreed, whilst the economy here has taken a hit so has just about every country's economy worldwide. Tourism isn't Thailand's biggest earner, and as you say right now they're wondering why rice farmers aren't rich!

Do you mean the latest Covid related extension? Your TR would've either expired a long time ago or would only be a few weeks old at most...

Assuming you mean Covid related extensions you've been receiving then yes you can extend them. You either need a letter from your embassy or an email/screenshot saying your embassy doesn't issue the letter.
