Anyone have any ideas re my situation. Have a retirement visa and own a condo in Thailand. Came back to UK when this virus kicked off. Lifelong diabetic and need to be UK for medication etc so probably spend 50% time there, have multiple entry visa so can come and go as I please. Obviously we've been stuck in our own countries since. My visa runs out in feb next year. Maybe, and we don't know, after vaccinations rolled out,we may be able to travel on normal flights without quarantine. Is there any type of amnesty with retirement visas when we've not been ablt to return? Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster, holding a retirement visa and currently in the UK due to medical needs, inquired about any possible amnesty related to their visa expiration amid travel restrictions. Commenters clarified that there is no amnesty for retirement visas; when the visa expires, one must apply for a new one in their home country. Other suggestions included applying for a certificate of entry to return if the retirement visa is still valid. Overall, the consensus is that upon expiration, new application procedures must be followed without any leniency offered for the current situation.

So many incorrect statements here, if you have a valid retirement visa and re entry permit the you can apply for the COE And once you have that you can go to Thailand

Just apply for a new Non Imm OA at the RTE London.

This is interesting the information the others have given you seems different from what I was aware of.

I also have a retirement visa and am applying for a certificate of entry today. Just having a property there should qualify you for entry if you message me with your email address I'll send you the link.
