Morning all, I think the answer is she has to leave but just double checking. My wife, British, is in Thailand on an extension of stay based on being spouse/dependent (I don't have passport to hand to confirm) but has a job starting next month. In order to convert to a non-B does she have to leave Thailand or can this conversion be done in country? Job is with an international school if that helps. School is quiet at moment but last advice from the school (about 3-4 weeks back) was don't do anything right now as they didn't know what to do with everything which is going on.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires whether their British wife can convert her spouse/dependent visa to a Non-B visa for employment at an international school in Thailand without leaving the country.

can't go from a dependent/spouse extension to an in country Non-Imm visa of any type

Talk to the employer and see what they say to do. Otherwise she waits it out and sees what happens when the borders open :(
