Quick one. Former BOI company employee, visa cancelled and 7 days to leave. If want to apply for the unable to travel due to covid extension where would you go in Bangkok for this?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user with a canceled visa, previously employed by a BOI company, is seeking information about applying for a COVID-related visa extension in Bangkok. The main suggestion is to visit the Chaengwattana Immigration Office, specifically Counter M for non-B (business) visa cases or Counter N for teaching visas. However, if the user has already received an 'application for extension not approved' stamp, they cannot apply for another extension in Thailand. An update revealed that the application was denied but the user received an additional 7 days to leave the country, avoiding an overstay stamp.

As an update, went along to Counter M armed with completed form, picture of myself, copy of TM30, copies of passport and any stamps/stickers associated with Thailand, plus print out of flight ticket out of here.

As expected the extension was rejected at counter M. No issues with this as I was given an extra 7 days to leave which is more than enough as my flight leaves over the weekend. The whole point was to avoid the overstay stamp at Swampy as I don't want any future plans to potentially be screwed up by that.

There weren't many people around the counter M area but there were around counter L, which I'm going to guess is area for the unable to travel due to covid malarkey.

Please let us know if you get the covid visa or not. I'll be doing the same after 2 weeks thanks

Since the extension is totally at the discretion of the immigration officer you should not be planning anything based on someone else’s experience

You would go to the main immigration office at Chaengwattana, BUT keep in mind if you already took that "application for extension not approved" stamp you're done, you can't apply for any other extension inside the country from it.

You have a week to get out.

NOW if they just cancelled your current extension and stamped that you're allowed here another 7 days (which would be on the cancellation stamp) you're okay to go TRY to apply for a covid extension

Out there, you would either go to Counter N <- which does teachers, or Counter M <-which does people who have other jobs

Good luck with it, the worst they can say is no..

it's the latter, worst case I'll hop on a plane somewhere for the day and come back. Have flight out booked but just don't want an overstay stamp. Cheers Tod
