Hi to all. I just want to ask a question, my visa will expired this Nov. 30.

My question is, do we still need to pay? or just like before just give the passport for stamp?

Because, we paid for 1900 to extend until last week of October, before they said the amnesty will extend on Oct 31st.

Im just a bit confused actually.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarification on whether they need to pay for their visa extension, which is set to expire on November 30, following the end of the amnesty on October 31. Various comments indicate that the user indeed needs to pay the standard fee of 1,900 baht for the extension and must apply for it before the visa expires. The responses emphasize that the amnesty period is over, and extensions can no longer be secured under that provision.

You misunderstand how it works: amnesty ran OUT on Oct 31st.

You needed to apply for an extension BEFORE that date, (and you did because you have a stamp that's good until Nov 30)

That means you need to go and apply for a NEW 60 day unable to travel due to covid extension at the immigration office for 1900baht BEFORE the 30th of Nov..

I am ALMOST A GENIUS for having left Thailand in late SEP.

If not, DEFINITELY NOT A MASOCHIST.

I think the trick is, Don't extend your stay after entering. One Westerner reported entering TH via BKK at least six (6) times within one calendar year solely on visa exempt, and never having any trouble.

Simply expand your entry points and mix everything up for them.

Good advice.

I have read on Thai Visa Forum that certain airports are notorious for scrutinizing frequent visitors and even denying entry: BKK, CNX & HKT to name a few.

Perhaps you should try others next time.

You are right. I always came into DMK and I guess they recognized me so that threw up flags.

Next time, maybe Phuket or Udon Thani. I have been to many places in Thailand also. Everything screams tourist!

They do what they want.

As far as I know, the Immigration policy for typical tourists in 2019 was a max of two overland entries in a calendar year.

No limits to non-overland entry (by air or even by sea), as many tourists have reported. Only the IO's discretion mattered.

Exactly!

That is what I was told and the YouTube Thailand lawyer, Benjamin Hart, said that also.

But they claimed I was in Thailand to live even though in 12 months, I visited Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Myanmar, Malaysia, and Indonesia. I just used Thailand to keep my stuff (most of which I lost when I was booted) and to get my mail.

They even marked my Passport that I was trying to live in Thailand. They gave me 30 days to get out (and said not to come back but I am not blacklisted).

She said she only gave me the extra 30 days because I just got back from 60 days in Indonesia and Malaysia.

That right there should be proof that I was not trying to live in Thailand.

PS 100% air travel

I minored in Physchology at California State and Michigan State Universities.

Not enough though to know I am not supposed to go around diagnosing people.

If it were my profession, I am not allowed to do that. Unethical

No, Your ADHD again. Pay attention. I was in Thailand for 181 days in 2018 and 2019. They claimed I was only allowed 180 day in a 12 month period.

Which is not a law. So no overstay. It is a Immigration policy (which was supposed to be revoked some time ago) and it is supposed to be (if it were a real policy) 180 days in a Calandar year.

They make up policies and enforce them the way they want.

I can get a 1 year Visa for $300. I would rather be in Thailand but they don't want me. Their loss. I earn more than either the average Thai or Khmer income.

Did you not read the part about being exiled from Thailand? ADHD?

They welcome me in Cambodia. They only want rich and/or Chinese in Thailand right now.

You are happily staying in KH, not stuck.

KH, LA & MM were my three non-sea options left after the MY-TH border closed in mid/late MAR 2020.

Unfortunately for me, shortly thereafter all three countries closed their borders on Thailand like domino chips falling.

So I was "stuck" in TH until late SEP 2020, because I liked TH and was not homesick enough to go home.

Do tell about KH. How long did KH's free visa extension/amnesty last? Were tourists in KH played like us headless chickens in TH? What is the current visa situation for tourists still stuck in KH? Have you read/heard of stories of foreigners who were given permission to enter KH after its borders were closed? Etc.

I am happy in Cambodia. I mean I cannot cross the border(s).

As for everything else on your list, I wouldn't know I was here before Covid.

I am back home in Taiwan, where the COVID situation is even better than in Thailand. Believe that?

No USA for me. NO NO NO

I was exiled from Thailand in September '19 also (unjustly...but they make [up] the rules) and just went to Cambodia and got an E visa for 30 days then converted that to a 12 month retirement Visa.

On my 2nd "multi - entry" 12 month Visa. Maybe in the Spring, I can cross the border.

I did go to Hong Kong for a week in Oct '19 but stuck in Cambodia since. Better off than most expats, I guess.

But actually it was near perfect timing.
