A belief based on my experience and that of others. Airlines have their own rules. If border bouncing passport validity is the usual.

not true. Thailand allows entry andcwill stamp you in up until passport expiry date.

then you are betting 3 weeks of time that they won't be rejected in Canberra. They are very fussy. A 10 minute trip to Sathorn from the embassy is a better bet.

you can use a visa debit card to pay AUD. As for documents you need passport photos taken. I would do it first at the recommended shop in Sathorn. The embassy site has info

I have used single entry tourist visa, ME spose visa, Spouse extension and re-entry, and multiple 30 day exempt. I dress well an am polite. I never have a problem at BKK. DMK always question me, visa or not.

DMK is stricter than BKK. Even questioned my valid Spouse Visa. Wanted my wife's ID
