If this is, I guess, a Non-Imm O visa made at Immigration office in Thailand, because of the 90 days stay stamp. Where is the visa number? Will he next get 365 days and there is no one month consideration period? Usually the first one year extension has a one month consideration period and then you go back to get the rest of the 365 days. Or is this some kind of transfer of data from old passport?
So do you think the immigration should raise this question everytime when someone arrives to Thailand? Just treat everyone like criminals? That is OK for you?
Maybe his close relative left inheritance? It is know to happen. Many kind if investments in Thailand or abroad can easily make profit sufficient to sustain a long holiday.
Thanks for the info, Vladimir! Was always wondering how it works. It all sounds ridiculous to me though. I did once, by mistake, arrive at CW about 8 am and saw this ridiculous queue spiraling everywhere that side of the hall. I was like wtf and went downstairs to have some rice and coffee. Went back about 9 am got a ticket 150 something and waited a few hours and got the extension done. I didn't have to sit on the floor at all.
What I don't understand is why they still don't advice/guide towards it. Then the RC counter might fine you the next day and you are completely unaware. It is a law after all, they should hand out tm30 sheets to everyone? But no mention. Nothing.
I have never heard of non imm visa need to have a flight out. Is that mentioned somewhere in the instructions to apply? You should confirm this at consulate when applying?
