The discussion reveals that proof of funds is not needed for this visa type at the Savannakhet consulate. Several participants confirm the necessary documents, including specific copies of the house book and marriage certificate, and clarify that the wife does not need to be present during the application process.

What about the marriage certificate copies, is the wife required to sign those as well?

The wife signs everything where her name is mentioned on and you sign everything where your name is on. This means for the marriage certificate both sign.

The thai consulates in Savannakhet Lao and Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam do not require proof of funds to issue year-long, multi-entry Non-O visas based on marriage to a thai.

They are the only consulates in the area that issue that visa without it.

Most offices yes as you come back from being abroad. Best to check this with your local Immigration Office as enforcement differs all over the country.

I'm also applying for my first non-o in savannakhet next week. I'm wondering about the house book, the copies needs to be of page 1 and the page with my wife's name and so on right? No need for the rest?

If your visa is still valid, and you are in Thailand you can get another 90 days permission to stay by doing a border run.

Visa or permission to stay? I have a non-O from Savannakhet based on marriage. Last year my visa expired in May but I remained in the country until September when I renewed. So long as you have leave to remain the visa expiration does not matter.

Sebastian Johansson yes 1st page and the page with the wife's name. Need the missus to sign the house book copies and sign her ID copy. All very simple did it last week. Advise against going on a Monday, busy with agent runs. FYI I didn't copy my Laos visa and entry stamp, and they didn't ask for it. But there is a copy shop opposite the Consulate, if you want to play safe.
