Years in country has no link to knowing anything about anything as the rules change frequently, are different between provinces and are also interpreted differently between Imm Officers and Offices.
Yes exactly Robin. I know tou are not saying to lie. But Dave does NOT have such an income and is trying to get approval to write a stat dec to say that he has one without sending 800k to Thailand.
That was kind of my point. As Dave says... If you say that you have a 65k per month income when you don't you are lying on the stat dec. Just because you have 800k in the bank in Oz does NOT mean you have ANY income of any kind. You can't just promise to send over 65 a month. By saying that you do when you don't you are bypassing the system.
Minimize the risk mate. have 20k baht in your bag, have forward tickets, have a solid address, and if possible some sort of proof of address or booking.....I hear some people take a rental contract.....but I am not sure that is a good idea for a 30 day stamp......as why would you have one on a 30 day stamp......As said people do it for years......and you are SUPPOSED to be able to do it with no restrictions.....but if you get some snotty IO who is having a bad day, they make make trouble for you for sure.......Also avoid the females in immigration (my experience).....in the long run and to avoid being nervous when you arrive, aim for a visa wherever possible.........You are youngish like me and long term visas are NOT easy to come by............if you are cashed up you could consider the 5 year 500k Elite visa, but that is a lot of cash at one time.
