I need to do a border bounce this week. I live in Hua Hin so somewhere close ish would be preferable. I heard the crossing at Ranong down by Phuket is open. And rumor oh the one in Khanchanaburi, sorry for probably wrong spelling, will open after song khran. Anyone can confirm?

Hey all. US passport. Non-O multiple visa based on marriage. My initial entry stamp is expiring on December 1st, planning on going to activate my 2nd entry at the Kanchanaburi Phu Nam Ron border. Debating between going tomorrow (30th) or Sunday (1st), poked around posts on this topic and just wanted some clarification/reassurance on a couple things.

I'm fine to go on the date of expiry on the stamp in my passport, right? I've gone the day-of for extensions on other types of visas in the past...but I'm new to this visa and would hate to show up there on the day-of expiry and get blindsided with some info I'm not aware of.

I've read that ANYONE on a non-imm visa can be asked to show 20k when re-entering, so I'll have that just to be safe, but I've never seen anyone post about actually being asked while on this specific type of Visa...anyone been asked that when border bouncing to activate a new entry?

As far as I can gather, I don't need anything but my passport, no documents related to the marriage or anything...fairly sure this is correct, but please correct me if I'm wrong.

TIA guys.

I have read that it's now only 2 visa exempt stamps a year. Is it OK to do them back to back?

I am thinking of going back to Kanchanaburi border crossing again on Friday after gettng my first stamp there a month ago.

If I plan to enter Thailand on a visa exempt stamp (Myanmar/Kanchanaburi), am I expected to carry proof of funds, onward flight and accommodation? Not done this for a few years and wondered what the latest info was. Many thanks.

A bit info re border run around Bangkok. Basicly there are four borders which are reasonable close. However each of them have pro and con. The closest is the one in Kanchanaburi, cheap for Western Passport, expensive for ASEAN, sometimes they close without prior notice. We had yesterday our first successful trip and plan to do the run regulary. The other borders are on the Cambodian side and are Aranyaprathet, the only comment that I have it is best avoided , a lot of people (long wait) and Non O holders are requested to stay overnight or fly OUT/IN. The other two borders are further south in the area of Pong Nam Ron, near Soi Dao, in Chantaburi province. Both are under the same juristriction so both border follow the rules, no problem for TWO times visa waiver entries in one calendar year and no problem for Multiple entry visa holders. People still complain about "overcharging", but these are actual service fee by agents. Other than that these three borders are OK to do border run. Enjoy your holiday and on 1st January 2018 the clock for 30day visa waiver or entry stamp will be reset at any border.
