I have read that it's now only 2 visa exempt stamps a year. Is it OK to do them back to back?

I am thinking of going back to Kanchanaburi border crossing again on Friday after gettng my first stamp there a month ago.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The current rule allows only two visa exempt entries per calendar year in Thailand. You can use these entries back-to-back; for example, you can obtain your second stamp immediately after your first within the same year if you choose to do so. However, it's crucial to understand that this policy has been in effect since December 31, 2016.

It's been TWO 30 day visa exempt entries by land in a calendar year since Dec 31, 2016 :O

Good Luck I think you got your answers.

If it’s not ok they probably won’t let you out unless you have to get a full Myanmar visa.

I know about the 30 day extension...I can't get hold of my landlord for theTM30...So I got to border bounce....cheers!

and you don't need anything from the land lord to file a TM30 on your own at Bangkok Immigration office. Just your lease and your passport.

BUT as has been pointed out they are NOT asking for a TM30 receipt for people getting 30 day extensions.

If you're in BKK you don't need it to get 30 day extension on an exempt...

Depending on where you do it, You can sometimes print your rental contract and do it yourself. Have to check with immigration.

you meas as in now only 2 visa exempt entry stamps a calendar year you actually mean I read it was introduced on 31 Dec 2016. Yes, you can do two Visa Exempt Entries a calendar year, how you like to do this us up to you, today the first one, tomorrow the next one, or sit out the full 30 days, apply for Extension at Immigration and than get a new one. Or back to back, good luck.
