If they had a flight before their visa or stamp expiry date and it got cancelled and rebooked, and is now after their expiry date, they can get 30 days with a letter from their embassy. (Provided the embassy agrees, so contact them)
If you need the 30 days, then get the ED cancelled first, but as Robert says it cab only be used for 1 entry anyway....not sure where you would border bounce though......options are slim..

I don't mean to pry, but if you have a million baht and are 61, why not just put 800k in a bank and live off the 'retirement' extensions (yes yes I know not the right term, but commonly referred to as this) for the next 20 years at 1900 baht a year. That would be 38k baht instead of a million. Especially considering that a lot of people don't live until 81.
