If you want to work remotely from inside Thailand with non Thai clients then get yourself the DTV, otherwise you would be working illegally. Bonus is you would have no entry problems
She would also need paperwork to show that she has signed up for an approved soft power course and that she has income to support herself for the duration of the visa, or if workation then the documentation for that. You can't cancel the application once it's submitted
Normally I'd have suggested one gets a Non-OA visa and the other a Non-O dependant visa but their age will make that a difficult as. With the standard Non-O visa I don't believe the Thai embassy in the UK will issue a dependant visa until the primary person is on a 12 month extension of stay. With one on a dependant visa then only one lot of 800k is required but due to the above it might be easier just to go with 2×800k
there is no 30 day extension available on that visa. You could possibly get a 60 day "visiting Thai family" extension. Note the terminology, it applies to any Thai family although in your case it would be your Thai wife
Anonymous participant you think what you like but I'm giving you good advice. You are highly unlikely to obtain a dtv using your proposal. You have a much higher chance of success using soft power
