Hi guys, im applying for the dtv and im curious if someone can confirm i will get it. I’m building a website which will possibly bring in some revenue in a few months perhaps longer. So I’m applying for the visa based on that, from ChatGPT it said I should get it as I have savings - around 300k AUD I can show so I suppose Thailand would be happy to take me in? Can anyone confirm if a business currently making 0 will get approval as they can stay and have the $ to build it over time? Thanks. Just hoping I can get some people saying yes and no crazy obstacles or no point paying with a no.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster is seeking confirmation about the approval of their Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) application in Thailand, despite their business not currently generating income. They have significant savings (around 300k AUD) and are inquiring if this would be sufficient for approval. Responses from the community vary, with some affirming that as long as sufficient savings and documentation are provided, approval is possible, while others advise that an established business is typically preferred and suggest alternative visa options like the Soft Power Visa.
I don’t see any issues with your approval, as long as you meet the visa reqs, you should be good to go.
The main thing is showing you’ve got enough savings and proof you’re doing remote work or running a biz, not necessarily making income from it right now. You can still get the visa if you’ve got the required funds and proof of ownership or work, even if the biz isn’t earning yet, No big obstacles as long as your docs are solid and tick all the boxes. Paying the visa fee and sending a complete app should be worth it.
I had a similar situation, my business is new, but I wrote a letter explaining my business. They still came back and ask for proof of income, I wrote another letter and sent the transactions and balance on my PayPal account. I have savings of 200k Canadian.
Anonymous participant I have 400k in savings with over 100k CAD in my chequing bank account readily accessible and had a hard time with my coaching business as I was on maternity leave (I wasn’t pulling in much). If you want a yes, your chances will be higher with soft power.
Anonymous participant Immigration does not issue this visa.
Do as you wish, do not ask advice if you do not like answers.
Apply and see what happens , worst case scenario is that another anonymous DTV holder is going to complain that Immigration did not make up his bed and prepared breakfast
Anonymous participant you think what you like but I'm giving you good advice. You are highly unlikely to obtain a dtv using your proposal. You have a much higher chance of success using soft power
Embassies want to see an established business which has been going on for several months otherwise they tend to deny the visa. If you don't mind gambling 10+k Thai baht then u go ahead otherwise you'd better choose another path
