I’m originally on a Non B but extended for Thai family. It is 100 possible, though I don’t the OP did the same.

Also, if your last extension on the non B was to support Thai wife, you can stay until the stamped date.Sounds like this isn’t the case though…

but they can apply for a 7 day extension so that they don’t have leave the country the very same day

definitely frustrating — consider it a loss this time. It’s just 10k thb and not worth legal issues. Head to Hanoi after the tourist visa expires and it should be fine, assuming the financials are good. Karma will eventually get the gym back.

I was sued and ended up 6m jail but got suspended probation, but I also had another related case open, which I won and was more than what I paid. Still, it wasn’t worth it with the scare of real prison time.

usually they don’t even issue a tourist visa, so he or she was actually lucky. If they gave a tourist visa, that indicates that it wasn’t financial or other eligibility but likely course length.

the people at the bank are the ones who opened mule accounts and ‘visa agent accounts’ so technically are at fault

Pretty sure they meant you can resolve this at immigration by reapplying for a non-o retirement. If you frequently need to leave Thailand, u could just apply for a DTV in Hanoi or somewhere nearby.
