Thailand might be changing its law that says anyone who lives in Thailand for 180 or more days a year, is required to pay taxes on any income. This is not DTV specific

As a spouse of a DTV holder, one can also apply for a DTV. You have to pay a separate fee for that spouse’s application and submit and application (with the documents required)

I applied in August and was approved. Got there at 9am in the morning on a Tuesday (very long line). Submitted the form, $400, photo, passport, passport photo page, letter from employer stating my job, salary and remote status, 6 months of bank statements and then received a receipt to return the following Tuesday in the afternoon (3-4pm). Got there, handed my receipt and received passport back with the visa. Almost no speaking with the staff. They seem uninterested in answering any questions.
