You will need evidence that you are in the country where you are applying (if via e-visa). Obviously, photos, passport photo page, etc. just make sure your work letter clearly states you get to work remotely

- it is probably not possible via the e-visa process, as there is a clear trail. Maybe with a “walk-in” embassy

Then I would have asked about the possibility of transferring my visa into a new passport prior to applying for one using my old passport, knowing I will be getting a new one really soon

Anonymous participant - Why did you get a DTV knowing that you would get a new passport right after?

All police have power. Yes, if you do something illegal, expect a chance to go to jail. Don’t do something illegal if you don’t want to risk that chance

I gave tentative, and it was fine. Why would I book flights and hotels when visa isn’t guaranteed and can take time. Yes, for visa applications, they ask you to apply within 3 months of travel, because they are usually swamped. Also, most visas are only good for a short amount of time. However, once you have the visa, you can enter anytime within the 5 years (unless they change laws)

- Not sure, but it would be reviewed by the same people. So not sure how they would end up being easier.

If American, it will take 4-6+ weeks to process your passport application. If submitted today, you would be lucky to get it early/mid December.
