You will most likely need import/export documents and certificates to take your dog over a land border as well. When I moved from Cambodia to Thailand, the paperwork and approval process was slightly complicated to just get them over the border. I would also highlight, a flight out and back might be much quicker. When you pay for the fast track (VIP) immigration services, things are much easier coming back in. That way, you wouldn’t be gone too long from your dog. Also, you might have issues with border bouncers letting you bring a dog with you in their van.
not sure what you are reading, but all Thai embassies moved to e-visas since Jan 2025. The embassy in Laos is a little different in that you still need to go in person to pay though.
