You heard wrong. Covid extension available for another two months, but only for tourist visas and visa exempt. No longer available for non-immigrant visas. These people either have to extend on a substantive visa or leave the country
Stacey Logan. That's a question for your immigration office. I would think not, that it would depend on the visa/extension you were on immediately before you went onto covid extension, but that's an immigration decision. I would be asking the question before you actually apply. If you get that "seven days to leave" stamp you have nowhere else to go
Keep in mind it's not a covid VISA. it's an extension based on your previous visa/extension. The category of this visa will determine if you can apply for the extension
Always keep in mind a visa issued at an embassy allows you to ENTER the country during its period of validity (as Michael points out, usually 90 days). On arrival, the immigration officer will give you a stamp which allows you to STAY in the country up to the expiry of the stamp, not the expiry of the original visa. Sounds a little complicated, but once you've done it a few times you get used to it
Astrid van Zon. He needs a non-O married to a Thai, or supporting Thai child. What on earth someone with family is doing messing around with these ridiculous covid extensions I've no idea. He can apply for 60-day visiting family visa, which he can then convert to a 12-month non-O. He was on a non-O before, so I understand he can go back to this
Carl Davies. If she tells immigration I think your "marriage" visa is null and void. Unfortunately "not wanting to go back the UK" is not a valid visa. How about studying or working?
Can I ask a dumb question? If you've got a family here, why are you farting around with covid extensions instead of getting a proper 12 month visa or extension?
