Your documents have been checked and you have an appointment.

You will not need to do anything but bring the documents as checked by the DLT staff.

Yes they will be expired but they were valid upon inspection and appointment.

This how it works at the phuket DLT.

If you are a passport eligible for 60 days visa exempt, that is what you will get on every entry.

The online booking systems are not reliable.

Many problems.

Just show up and get it done.

As a business partner you are legally able to "oversee" BUT not actually work in your business on a retirement visa.

Many blur that line without issue.

if you are arrested on overstay.

You are immediately detained until deportation.

That is immigration jail.

The smartest and safest path is to always update your TM30 before having any interactions at immigration.

So before you do your extension, you update your TM30.

This way your information is current and correct, raises no questions.

**our personal practice is whenever we travel anywhere, we come home and update our TM30**

absolutely wrong.

There is no requirement for anyone to carry a copy of the Tm30.

We are required only to be registered.

There are no "spot" checks for tm30 ever.

The TM30 is used to locate you if the authorities need to get in touch with you.

It only comes into play when dealing with Immigration for extensions, residence certificates, drivers licenses, etc.

Most actual tourist will come and go without any Immigration contact ever.

This story lacks Information.

I don't believe he is being "hauled"

Away by immigration but rather somebody for the building taking him to get his TM30 registered at immigration.

Possibly warning him of potential fines.

An agent likely, who will charge him for their service.

Kinda scammy it sounds.

In my experience he will not get fined or possibly an 800-1600b at worst.

But lets see how it plays out.
