Hi, does anyone know if the documents submitted to obtain the DTV need to be submitted every year for the 5 years?

In addition, does a DTV visa holder have to request permission to leave Thailand?

Any info will be very appreciated. Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) is a multi-entry visa, and there are no requirements to request permission to leave and return to Thailand. However, to extend your visa after the first 180 days, you will need to submit certain documents, including a TM30 and a bank statement showing a minimum balance of 500,000 baht. The visa extension fee is 1,900 baht. As the DTV is a new visa category, there are still questions regarding the specific requirements for extensions as more individuals reach the extension milestone.

Nobody knows yet, since nobody has reached the 180 days, where they need to extend, and in the beginning there will be lots of different ways to get the extension, depending which Immigration office used.

DTV is a multientry Visa.

Nothing required to leave and return.

Each entry will be granted 6 months.

Immigration count in days, not months.

So 180 days, not 6 months.

thank you. Very clear. Would you know if we need to submit documents every year for the 5 years? I mean, if one does the cosa for Muay Thai does the confirmation by the authorized gym need to be provided every you or every 6 months?

NO.

You have been granted a multientry Visa not requiring any requalification unless you try to extend in Thailand at Immigration.

You will be then subject to whatever criteria they ask.

IF you just leave and renter at 6 month increments you are clear of any further documentation.

That is the current Visa requirements and rules, however going forward you just never know what will change.

As it stands 6 months on entry, leave and reenter for 5 years.

You need to show TM30 and an updated bank statement with 500,000 bahts. Visa extension fee is 1,900 bahts.

not correct, TM30 is the report every property owner has to file within 24 hours of arrival when a foreigner stays in the property.

That is completely different from the 90 days reporting.

On the onther hand you could argue 90 days reporting is useless as TM30 administration works correct.

good point. I'm correcting my comment.

And to make the story about TM30 complete, you also have to report if you stay in your own property as foreigner.

Please show us the official requirements and not something that just passed through your mind on a butterfly whim!

There was a report from guy in one of the other expat groups who got an extension I believe at CW, he said he had to provide TM30 and show his overseas bank account to ensure it was still 500k. I'll see if I can find it and post the link here

Cheers. The only one I saw was where someone said Immigration told them requirements. Not that it had been done

sorry I don’t understand. I’m new to this process. What is the TM30?

@Tina ***************
TM30 is a report made by the property to immigration where you're staying in Thailand.

Then you need to do a 90 day report to immigration if you've stayed in Thailand without leaving for 90 days. It's basically and update so they know where you are. Very simple

Anonymous participant 930 good point, I'm correcting my previous comments

where did you hear this from??? Hahaha not true at this time.

No need to show bank statements every year or upon re-entry (assuming not using an extension because that is unknown and might vary between immigration offices)
